Greenwich Equestrian Skills Centre
Building on Olympic legacy for enhancing skills for all
Youngsters are being given the opportunity to build on Britain's golden Olympic equestrian legacy through a new skills centre.
The new Royal Greenwich Equestrian Centre provides a firstclass skills and training facility in areas such as equine care and animal management. And the quality of the facilities extends right through to the toilets: the Centre features a 'state of the art' Changing Places toilet for people who need the help of a carer.
Supplied by Closomat, the toilet is 'bigger and better' than a conventional 'disabled' toilet. It has space for the user and up to two carers to manoeuvre with a wheelchair, a height adjustable adult sized changing bench, height adjustable washbasin, hoist, and a Closomat Palma Vita automatic (wash and dry) toilet.
Robin Tuffley, Closomat marketing manager, commented, "The Equestrian Skills Centre is a wonderful resource. It is a very exciting project, which will open up new training and career opportunities for many people. The Changing Places toilet will help enable disabled students to undertake their personal hygiene requirements with as little help as possible!"
Closomat is the UK's leading supplier of disabled toileting solutions, with over 50 years' experience in providing design advice, supply, installation, commissioning and servicing of personal hygiene equipment to optimise people's independence. It manufactures the Closomat Palma Vita automatic toilet used at Greenwich: since the product was first marketed in the UK, the company has sold over 40,000 of the 'hands-free' toilets, some of which have been in daily use for over 30 years.
